Maria, widow of Virginio “Keno” surrounded by family passed away February 6, 2018 at age 93. There is so much to say about our mother but in a nut shell, she was “cool” yet a lady. A very devout Catholic, giving all her children an honest upbringing, always fair but non-apologetic.
Her sisters affectionately called her Mary Queen and she will always be remembered with love and maybe a few tears. It was truly an honor to know her. She leaves behind her children- Virgil (Maggie+), Aida (Fred), Elizabeth (John), Diana (Francisco), Thomas (Diana) and 6 grandchildren.
The De La Portilla family wishes to extend thanks to Embrace Hospice and Jeanette Kasper, R.N. for the professional loving care extended to our mother. Also, Father Larry of St. Ann’s Church, San Antonio for graciously visiting our mother on her death bed. Also, we thank all the Eucharistic Ministers from St. Paul’s Church San Antonio that weekly came to pray over our mother and administer Holy Communion.

Visitation will be held Sunday, February 11, 2018 from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary recited at 7:00 P.M. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 12, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
