Hortencia Escobedo Cano, age 86, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Hortencia was born on November 17, 1930 to Pablo and Rafaela Escobedo. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, quiet nature, devotion to family and the never-ending meals with love. She’ll be mostly remembered for her constant attentiveness to her husband. Hortencia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Hortencia is preceded in death by her father Pablo, mother Rafaela, brothers Dario, Ernesto, Amado, Manuel Escobedo, sister Beatrice Fuentes, son Heriberto Cano Jr., grandson Joseph Daniel Mora and granddaughter Debra Mora Flores.
Hortencia is survived by her loving husband of 64 years Heriberto H. Cano; daughter Delia Mora, son-in-law Daniel Mora; granddaughters Erica (Steve) Moreno, Elizabeth (Jeff) Martinez, grandsons Heriberto Cano III, Paul (Cayla) Cano and Chris Flores; 9 great grandchildren, Danielle, Alyssa, Brianna and Catheryn Flores, Emalynn Moreno, Lilah and Carter Martinez and Preston and Charlotte Cano; as well as many other relatives and friends that she always held close to her heart.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
