Amelia Adame Martinez passed away quietly on December 7, 2017 at the young age of 94 due to complications from a long illness with Congestive Heart Failure. Amelia was born and raised in Corpus Christi, TX on November 22, 1923, to Luis Adame and Guadalupe Gonzalez.
She dedicated over 40 years of service to Corpus Christi Independent School District both as a custodian at Austin Elementary and school bus driver where she retired from in 1984. She enjoyed spending time gardening, playing bingo and traveling with friends. Amelia served her community as an election campaign volunteer and also as a surrogate grandmother at the Corpus Christi State School.
Amelia was a strong independent mother, sister, aunt , grandmother, and friend. Her big heart and generosity was complimented by her feistiness and humor which made her the unique person many grew to love and will greatly miss.
She is preceded in death by her parents Luis and Guadalupe Adame; her son, Ruben Rodriguez; her grandson, Daniel Rodriguez; her sisters, Desideria "Desi" Serreta, Eloisa Rendon, Dominga Hernandez, Aurora Flores; her brothers, Manuel "Meme" Gonzalez, Jose Fidel Adame.
She is survived by her sister, Josie Garcia of Corpus Christi, TX. Grandchildren include Linda Ruth Rodriguez, Lydia R. Perez, Lisa R. (Gabriel )Medrano, Raul Rodriguez, Roger Rodriguez all from Corpus Christi, TX .; Laura (Esteban) Lopez of Austin, TX.; Ruben (late Grace) Rodriguez of Springfield, MO. She is also survived by 26 great grandchildren, 19 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank Legacy Hospice, Legacy Home Health , Dr. George Benavidez, her senior companion, Ms. Hazel Wells, her life-long neighbors at Parkway Senior Apartments, and last but not least her favorite nurse, Kristina Kovanda who went above and beyond for our Granny.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 from 4:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary beginning at 7:00 P.M.at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with Pastor Sylvia Williamson officiating. Burial procession will follow to Rose Hill Memorial Park at 2731 Comanche St, Corpus Christi, TX 78408.

Pallbearers will be great grandsons: Ruben Escamilla, James Escamilla, Antonio Figueroa, Jr., Lorenzo Figueroa; nephew, Victor Rendon and niece, Emily Serrata Trevino.
Funeral services are entrusted to Corpus Christi Funeral Home located at 2409 Baldwin Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78405.
