Vincent Paul Gillego Gaspar

July 6, 1971 ~ April 8, 2020 (age 48) 48 Years Old

Obituary

Vincent Paul Gaspar, age 48, passed away on the 8th of April of the year 2020. He was born on July 6, 1971 to Daniel Leo Gaspar and Maria Fe Gaspar. Born and raised in Davao City, Philippines, he graduated from Davao City High School in 1988. Paul then pursued a nursing career and studied at Davao Doctors College, where he graduated from in 1992. He was employed by Christus Spohn for 14 years. Outside of his career, Paul enjoyed spending time with family, rock-and-rolling to his favorite music, and searching for little “treasures”. He loved to go on adventures and always welcomed a new experience.
He will always be remembered for his kind heart and his playful nature. Any person that knew Paul will vouch for his goodness. He was a gentle soul to all and was always ready to make someone laugh.
Paul was a loving father, husband, son, brother, nephew, cousin, and friend. He cared for those far just as much as those who were close.
Unfortunately, in September of 2019, Paul began his brave battle with cancer after an official diagnosis. Throughout his battle, he was fueled by his faith, the kindness of all, and the love that was always in the midst. Tragically, however, it became too much for his body to bear.
Paul is preceded in death by his mother and father, and is survived by his brother, John Gaspar, his wife, Sheila Ghent, and his  kids, Nadine, Chloie, Elijah, Jeremiah and Jackie.
His special thanks to Bunmi Ojelade, Edward Michael Nash, Ali Maawy, Kin-Wing Au, and Phat Le—the doctors who worked hard in managing his care. In addition, his thanks to all of the nurses and staff at the Christus Spohn Cancer Center. Lastly, a deep thank you from him and his family goes out to everyone who was a part of this beautiful, bittersweet journey, as well as those who continue to be with us during this difficult time.
Due to the current circumstances that Covid has presented, the memorial service will be announced once we are able to finalize it. As for now, we welcome prayers and encourage all to keep his memory alive.
