Obituary

Uvaldo Garza, Sr., age 77 passed away peacefully at home on September 10, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 1, 1944 in Lyford, Texas to Dolores and Fidel Garza.
Uvaldo is preceded in death by his parents Dolores and Fidel Garza, brother, Alfredo Garza, grandson, Nikolas O. Garza and great-grandson, Jorge A. Guzman, III.
Uvaldo is survived by his wife Anita C. Garza, four children; Andrea (Richard) Mendez, Uvaldo (Marlene) Garza, Jr., Isaac (Amber) Garza, Jake (Marina) Garza, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, sisters, Arelia Garza, Olivia Garza and Oralia (Victor) Saenz.
Uvaldo was a Veteran of the United States Army and served two tours in the Vietnam War. After his time in the service he began his career as a mechanic at Coleman’s Automotive. Uvaldo continued his career at Western Auto in Annaville where he later retired. He was a prominent figure in the local racing community and enjoyed NASCAR and spending time outdoors.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
