Teresa Perez Yzaguirre

Heaven has gained another Angel.
Our Mother Teresa, age 87, gained her wings on September 17, 2022 . Her sudden and untimely death stunned everyone who loved and adored her.

Teresa was born March 24, 1935 to Roman and Lilia Perez. She married Demencio Yzaguirre at Holy Family Church in Corpus Christi, Texas on August 20, 1964 and had 5 children. 

She proudly lived in Texas her entire life. She worked with the School District for many years before retiring. 

Teresa enjoyed gardening, doing puzzles, traveling, and going to her Great-Grandchildren's games, but she mostly enjoyed spending time with her family. 

Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. Her affection was felt by all who met her and was always lovingly referred to as, "mom and grandma". Teresa devoted herself to being an extraordinary wife and mother and grandmother. Teresa regularly boasted about her numerous grandkids, children's accomplishments and activities. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Teresa is preceded in death by her parents Roman and Lilia Perez, her brother Roman Perez, son-in-law Manuel B. Leija III, grandchildren Dominico Yrlas, Manuel Y. Leija IV, Stephanie Cecilia Yzaguirre, Aria San Miguel, and Evangeline San Miguel.

Desperately missing Teresa is her beloved husband, Demencio Yzaguirre, her children Gloria Garza, Felix Yzaguirre, Beatrice Leija, Felipe Yzaguirre, and Maria San Miguel and spouses, 26 grandchildren,18 great-grandchildren, siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Robert Yrlas, Joseph Matthew Garza, Rodolfo Antonio San Miguel, Alexander Lee Yzaguirre, Anthony Zaccaria Leija, Benjamin Travis Yzaguirre, Nathan Armando Yzaguirre, and Lucas Caleb Garza

Honorary pallbearers are Cody Jeremiah Leija, Jacob Daniel Leija, Timothy Duncan Yzaguirre, and Brendan Ryan Leija 

Visitation will be held at Corpus Christi Funeral Home 2409 Baldwin Corpus Christi, Texas from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm on Thursday, September 29, 2022 with Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Christ the King Church 3423 Rojo St, Corpus Christi, Texas at 9:30 am on Friday, September 30, 2022. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens 8200 Old Brownsville Road, Corpus Christi, Texas.

The family appreciates the ICU staff of Doctors Regional Hospital for allowing her entire family to be with her in her final moments.
