Obituary

Santa Ybarra Medrano, age 90, passed away November 9, 2020. Santa was born on July 23, 1930 in Beeville, Texas to Jose an Senovia Ybarra. She was a dedicated homemaker all of her life, had a faithful devotion to our Blessed Virgin Mary, and dedication to pray the rosary daily.
Santa will always be remembered for her welcoming warmth, nurturing way, devotional love and passion for her family, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved going to the beach, packing bologna sandwiches for lunch, collecting seashells, just listening and relaxing to the ocean waves. She had an impressive seashell collection, which she would proudly display in her home. Santa found great pleasure and pride in caring for her family, in caring for her home always finding ways to improve our home.
Santa is preceded in death by her husband Juan Medrano, her parents Jose and Senovia Ybarra, her brothers and sisters Norberto Ybarra, Dora Juarez, Estella Guajardo, Ricardo Ybarra, Abraham Ybarra, David Ybarra, Elva Sherrill, and Jesse Ybarra.
Santa is survived by her brother Joe H. Ybarra, her daughters Patricia Woolsey (Denny), Gracie Medrano, Peggy Clarke (Charles), Rachel Bradley (Steve), Lucy Horne (Rick). Her grandchildren LT. Colonel Joseph Brian Woolsey (Lizzie), Patrick Kevin Woolsey, Cody Horne, Alex Horne (Crystal), Michael Bradley (Rachael), Sam Bradley (Megan). Santa is also survived by her great-grandchildren Mayhem, Eloise, Kolohe, Sky, and Selby Woolsey; Landon, Emmitt, Marley and Raiden Bradley, Xavier, Luna, Jaiden, Jax and Taytum Horne. Santa is also survived by Nora Schell, Mike Orrson, and Joseph Schell.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2020, followed by the recitation of the Rosary at 1:00 p.m. at Seaside Reid Mausoleum Chapel, Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas 78412.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
In addition, Santa’s family would like to acknowledge Altus Hospice, especially nurse Monica Dishman and Deacon Armando Leal, for their exceptional support, kindness, and care for our loved one.
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Steve Bradley, Rick Horne,
Charles Clarke, Michael Bradley, Alex Horne and Sam Bradley.
