Sam Chavez

Sammy Chavez, 76, passed away February 10, 2021. He was born in Yorktown, Texas on November 20, 1944 to Edward and Jesusa Trevino Chavez. Sammy serviced in the Army National Guard for 17 years. He was a helicopter mechanic with Corpus Christi Army Depot and retired after 45 years of service. Sammy enjoyed gathering with friends and especially playing his guitar. Sammy was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Sammy is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eddie Chavez, sisters, Alice Chavez and Antonia Chavez.
Left behind to cherish Sammy’s memory is his wife, of 56 years, Dora Chavez, four children, Hector (Toni) Chavez, Benjamin (Andrea) Chavez, Sam (Paula) Chavez Jr., Jana Samantha Chavez, grandchildren, Jazmin, Leah, Kya, Mya, sisters, Linda Rivera, Elvia Ramirez, Susie Chavez, Daisy Chaves and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Due to COVID limitations, the services will be limited to 75 people. Masks are required.
