It is with great sadness that the family of Roberto Serrata Sr. announces his passing on Friday, September 7th at the age of 86.
He is survived by a son Robert A Serrata, daughters Nora Vallejo (Florentino) and Noemi Guerra (Ralph), 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren.
He was born in San Benito, TX to Tiburcio Serrata and Wenceslada Yzaguirre had four brothers, Raul, Ramiro, Max and Tiburcio (Butcho), three sisters Rosa, Guadalupe and Maria.
He survived the loss of his beloved wife Maria A Serrata and older daughter Norma Serrata. He worked hard to support his family at all times and was employed with CCISD for over 20 years beginning in maintenance and later becoming a locksmith for the district after completing certification on his own despite only having an elementary education. He enjoyed taking care of his home and was also a self-taught carpenter. He enjoyed playing his guitar and singing, taking his granddaughters to Church, memories we will treasure always. We have lost the oldest and most precious member of our family, a true gentleman. Our father, grandfather will live in our hearts forever.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 P.M. that same evening.
Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, September 14, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
