Obituary

Richard Donnell “Pootis” Littlefield, age 36, passed away on November 23, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas.
Richard was born on February 9, 1982 to Esther Littlefield and Richard Downie in Corpus Christi, Texas. Richard accepted Christ at an early age and loved serving the Lord. He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 2001. Richard was employed by Whataburger for several years until he couldn’t work anymore. Pootis’s hobbies were writing and doing sketches on sketch boards. Pootis always listened to music, he had a love for it and you can bet on him having all of the latest music. He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature and devotion to family. He loved spending time with his family and being around his friends. Pootis had a big Kool-Aid smile and could light up the whole room when he walked in. Pootis was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, grandson, cousin and friend. Pootis will truly be missed by everyone he came in contact with. He made friends with everybody, he was very friendly and easy to get along with. Richard is preceded in death by his beautiful daughter Ne’Veyah Elece Littlefield, maternal grandmother Barbara S. Brooks, great grandmothers Sally R. Ivory and Pinkie Brooks.
Richard is survived by his loving parents, Esther Littlefield and Richard “Ricky” Downie both of Corpus Christi, TX. His son Christopher Donnell Littlefield of Corpus Christi, TX. Eight sisters; Tisheaux Littlefield of Houston, TX, Naikia “Nikki” Littlefield, Bratania Downie, Jessica Gonzalez and Angelica Downie-Mungia all of Corpus Christi, TX, Oran “Keshawn” Mitchell, Amber Mitchell and Kayla Downie all of Dallas, TX. One brother, Ashton Downie of Corpus Christi. Pootis is also survived by his maternal grandfather Dec. Eugene Brooks and paternal grandparents Donnell Downie and Joyce Downie-Shelton all of Corpus Christi, TX. Pootis was an awesome uncle and will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Kennyste Mitchell, Ka’Mariyea and Kali Lewis of Corpus Christi, TX, Kei’Ariyeon and Kei’Ansai Carson of Houston, TX, Kandice Blackmon, Kylie McDonald and Royal Kirby-Rogers all of Dallas, TX, his nephews Kei’ Cinn Mitchell, Kailand Lott and Devontra Patterson Jr. all of Corpus Christi, TX, Master Reese of Houston, TX, Kamrin Alexander and Landon Willis of Dallas, TX. Pootis is also survived by his aunts, Claudine Woods of San Antonio, TX, Lynette Heard of Los Angeles, CA, Renee (Vaughn) Coker and Denise Downie-Minor of San Antonio, TX, Melinda Downie of Atlanta, GA, Stephani (Wallace) Bullocks and Pamela Downie of Dallas, TX; one uncle, Lester (Angela) Littlefield of Dallas, TX; and a special aunt Vivian Williams of Houston, TX; a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A special thanks to Dr. Ester Pollard and her staff for taking good care of Richard. Another special thanks to the doctors and staff at Christus Spohn South of Corpus Christi, TX and Main Methodist Hospital of San Antonio, Texas. We the family would also like to give our special cousin Kamisha Goss thanks for everything that she’s done for us during this difficult time.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at St. John First Baptist Church.
Interment to follow at a later date at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Michael Evans, Nelson Stafford, Corey Brooks, Devontra Patterson Sr., Robert McGee and Brianne Brown.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Kei’Cinn Mitchell, Kailand Lott, Devontra Patterson Jr., Master Reese, Kamrin Alexander and Landon Willis.
