Richard David Gonzales

Richard David Gonzales, age 73, passed away May 24, 2023. Richard was born November 7, 1949, to Alejandro Gonzales and Lucille Rodriguez. Richard worked for The City of Corpus Christi Wastewater Department. He enjoyed fishing and BBQing. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He will always be remembered for his laughter, hard work, service in the community, love for oldies but goodies and most especially for his devotion to his family. Richard was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Alejandro and Lucille Gonzales; his brother: John Gonzales and his sisters: Mary Helen Flores, Mary Benavides and Maria Guadalupe Hinojosa.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Nora Gonzales; his children: Michelle Gonzales, Nora Lee Castro, Beatrice Figueroa and Robert Figueroa; 17 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, brother: Alejandro Gonzales; sisters: Alicia Chavez and Maria Diddle Trevino.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A rosary will be held at 12:30 PM, Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are his grandsons: Joe Luis Sotello, John Figueroa, Ramiro Tellez, Jacob Garcia, Mark Perez and Axel Johns. Honorary pallbearer is his grandson, Jim Castro.
