Reynaldo R. Castaneda

Reynaldo Castaneda, age 84, passed away on April 22, 2018 in Corpus Christi. Texas.
He was born on November 6, 1933 to Abel and Estella Castaneda in Corpus Christi, Texas. Reynaldo enlisted in 1951 to 1954 and served with Army (Infantry) Airborne Division. He received the Parachute Badge, National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He married his wife of 63 years on June 6, 1954. Reynaldo was employed by Memorial Medical Center. He enjoyed participation in boxing, fishing, drawing, being outdoors, and taking care of all his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grandfather and will be missed. Reynaldo is preceded in death by his parents, Abel & Estella Castaneda, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Reynaldo is survived by his wife, Zulema Castaneda; daughter, Lydia Castaneda (Tele Trevino), son, Reynaldo Castaneda Jr., son, Edward (Thelma) Castaneda, son, Abel Castaneda, daughter, Rebecca (Audiel) Ramirez, daughter, Angie (George) Villela, daughter, Britney Cervantes; 9 grandkids, 22 great grandkids and 1 great great grandson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
