Rene Cuestas Luna, age 68, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018.
Rene was born on December 15, 1949 to Senobio and Frances Luna.
He graduated from Thurgood Marshall Law School in 1978.
Rene began his career as a partner at Mahoney, Shaffer, Hatch, Layton, & Luna. After which he continued as a self-employed Attorney at Law for 39 years.
He was a simple man who loved to bar-be-que, tend to his yard, wash his car, drink some beer and have a smoke. He loved the game of baseball, football and boxing.
He loved to play with and be around his grandsons. He devoted himself to the Catholic Church and was a strong brother in faith.
He will always be remembered for his extreme kindness and tremendous generosity.
He was a good father, grandfather, uncle, son, brother, and friend. But most of all a great teacher of life. He will be missed by all.
Rene is preceded in death by his father, Senobio Luna, mother, Frances Luna and brother, Arturo Luna.
Rene is survived by his two sons, Dr. Rene Immanuel Luna (Lea), Matthew Ray Luna (Breanna), their mother, Norma Tunchez and four grandsons, Ryland, Reid, Luke and Jon Luna, his brother, Senobio Luna (Susie), his sister, Sonia Tamez (Bert), half-brother, Julio Luna and half-sister, Pamela Hernandez (Steve).
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary Prayer Service will be recited at 7:00p.m. the same evening.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. The burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
