Ramona Rebeca Lerma, age 87, entered into her eternal rest on August 6, 2022. She was born on October 9, 1934 in San Ygnacio, Texas to Eugenio and Librada Garcia. Ramona retired from CCISD after 20 years of service. She enjoyed being with her beloved family, traveling, going to the casinos and playing games on her tablet. Ramona will always be remembered for her love & devotion to family, Our Lady of Guadalupe, and her infectious smile. She was a longtime parishioner at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and also a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Ramona was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and cousin. Ramona is preceded in death by her parents, Eugenio and Librada Garcia, siblings: Lazaro, Oscar & Orlando Garcia and Delia & Irma Trevino, two grandsons, Robert Joseph Vera and Nicholas Henry Lerma. Ramona is survived by her husband, of 67 years, Jose Enrique Lerma, Sr., 9 children, Jose Luis (Nelia) Lerma, Orlando (Gloria) Lerma, Nelda (David) Juarez, Martina (Roland) Vera, Jose Enrique (Diane) Lerma, Jr., Olga Lerma, Nilda Rangel, Becky (Fred) Orta, Celinda (Daniel) Ramirez and adopted daughter, Sylvia Garcia, 31 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30am on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery. Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are John & JoJo Lerma, Steven Orta, Danny Ramirez, RJ Rangel & Anthony Vera. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Juarez, Michael Orta & Jacob Plata.
