Ramon D. De La Garza passed away on August 8, 2019. Ramon was born August 6, 1944 in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Price Memorial College in Amarillo, Texas. After which he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. Ramon was employed by Zales Jewelers for 15 years, and Dr.Michael Mauger DC FNP for 20 years. Ramon was passionate about working out daily, attending daily mass and adoration at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, spending time with his family, and was very devoted to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the Shriners Hospital. He will always be remembered by his devotion to our Lord, to his family, love of laughter, and celebrating the many blessings of life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Domingo and Esperanza De La Garza and his sisters, Francis De La Garza and Jesusita De La Garza-Bustos. Ramon is survived by the love of his life, Zulema De La Garza, his six children: Michelle De La Garza, Denise (Pete) Garza, Ramon (Ida) De La Garza Jr, David (Sandra) De La Garza, Kristina (Ruben) Garcia, and Victoria (Eric) Harris, his grandchildren: Angelo, Whitley, Isabella, Alexis, Angelita, David Rey Jr, Andrew, Christopher, Aylssa, Catherine, and Lucy, great grandchildren: Roland, Graysen, and Jade. Sisters Cruz Lopez, Juanita Baca, Rosa (Abe) Hernandez, Oliva Romo, sisters in law: Francis Rodriguez and Felacitas Anderson plus numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Ortiz-Garcia and Staff at the Well Med Clinic on Saratoga, Dr. Ajay Sehgal and staff at the Coastal Bend Cancer Center, Dr. Ronald Stephens and Staff at the Palliative Clinic, the nurses and staff of Del Cielo Home Health, and Hospice Care for taking such great care of our father. A special thank you to Reba Pilgrim, RN for the loving, compassionate, unending care, and friendship she provided to him. A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, 2409 Baldwin Blvd, Corpus Christi TX, 78405 with a the Holy Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. On Wednesday, August 14, 2019 a viewing will be from 8-9:30 a.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church 3502 Saratoga Blvd. Corpus Christi TX, 78415 with a reception to follow.
