Rafael Chavez

Rafael B. Chavez, age 83, passed away September 30, 2020. He was born December 14, 1936 to Claudio and Eutiquia Chavez. Rafael enjoyed spending time with his family, dancing, visiting flea markets and caring for his dog, Estrella “Star”. He was loved by many and will always be remembered as the life of the party. Rafael was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.

Rafael is preceded in death by his late wife, Anita Chavez, his sons, Manuel, Max and Ruben Chavez.

Rafael is survived by his wife, Rosa Bayardo; his children, Irma Constante, Ralph Gutierrez, Nora, Rudy, Mike, Mario, Raul, David, Anna, Gabriel and Rebecca Chavez, 38 grandchildren and at least 25 great grandchildren; his sisters, Tita and Estella; his brothers, Ruben, David, Claudio and Daniel; 15 nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, October 8, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Joey, Danny, Ezekiel, Emmanuel, John David, Rayven Anita, David and Mark Chavez.
