Petra Saldivar Rodriguez, age 85, passed away on May 11, 2019. Petra was born on August 1, 1933 to Pedro and Herminia G. Saldivar. She graduated from Henrietta King H.S. in Kingsville, Texas. Petra enjoyed music and dancing. She also enjoyed watching football (Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans) and her most favorite watching the Houston Astros. Her most favorite hobbies were family gatherings, time spent with friends and eating out. She was a member of the North American Seniors and served as Treasurer, Vice President, and last position held was President. Petra S. Rodriguez is proceeded in death by her husband Daniel Rodriquez, her parents, Pedro and Herminia G. Saldivar and her brothers Patricio and Luis Saldivar. She is also proceeded in death by her close friend Carlos Zapata. Petra is survived by her son Daniel Rodriguez, Jr. (Veronica) and daughter Patricia Rodriguez (Benito Sanchez). Two grandsons, Eric Rodriguez (Ciarra) and Jesse Rodriguez, Jr. (Pamela), four great-grandsons Eric, Jr., Erian Daniel, Weston Emanuel, Meryl Greyson, and one granddaughter Cienna Marie. She is also survived by her brother Ramon (Maggie), Filemon (Gloria) and Felix (Socorro) Saldivar, numerous cousins and nephews and nieces. She is also survived by her dog, Mia. We will truly miss her and carry her memories in our heart. She is now with her husband Dan, family members and friends. We will meet up with you again one day. Visitation will be held at Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., on Thursday, May 16, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary same evening at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 17, 2019 at Our Lady of Guadalupe. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens.
