Obituary
Patricia Ann Hughes, age 60, was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 18, 2018. She was born on February 14, 1958 to Floy and Minnie Hughes. Patricia “Pat” was a woman of order. She like to “work, make money and make sure her bills were paid on time.” She met her loving wife, Sylvia A. Caldwell, 1998 and they were together happily for 20 years. She loved to watch Western movies, the Young and the Restless, the Have and Have Nots and playing her Farmville game.
She attended Roy Miller High School and received her GED. She was employed with ILA Local 26 where she worked for 14 years. She was a Union member and also sat on the Executive Board. Pat also worked for U.S.D.A. Cotton and Tobacco AMS for 13 years and was a Machine Tech for the last four years.
Pat accepted Christ at an early age and rededicated her life to Christ in 2006 at True Faith Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Wilton Allison, where she served as President of the Usher Board until her health failed.
She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. Floy and Mrs. Minnie Hughes; brother, Floyd “Bubba” Hughes and great nephew Ashtian Barnes.
She is survived by her wife, Sylvia A. Caldwell; son, Patrick Wayne Hughes; daughter, Jasmine Lee Caldwell, two sisters, Rita Jean (Jimmy) Felder, Houston, Texas and Lavette James, Corpus Christi, Texas; two brothers, John Boiser, Alice, Texas and Troy Boiser, Houston, Texas; two aunts, Evelyn Sheppard, Edna, Texas and Pauline Jackson, Corpus Christi, Texas; special nephew, Mr. Eric T. “Charley” (Tammy) Hughes; special great niece, Mrs. Shagayla (Michael) Hudgens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A visitation will be held on Friday, November 30, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home Chapel from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary First Baptist Church, 2906 Carver Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas 78405 . Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.
