Corpus Christi resident Orlando Delgado Valdez, 29, passed away in a fatal car accident in San Marcos, Texas on November 14, 2019. Born in Corpus Christi on August 13, 1990, Orlando went to school at Texas A&M - Corpus Christi and followed a myriad of passions under the stage name, Val Dino. He was multitalented and pursued many different hobbies. He loved arts and crafts. He was a musician that played the guitar and drums, he was a photographer and enjoyed making sushi, and when not pursuing those passions he engaged in other activities, which included binge-watching trilogies, playing poker, and travelling.
His hobbies spilled into the work he did, which included working as a skilled magician, a jaw dropping illusionist, and an extreme balloon artist. Orlando had the biggest heart and making people happy was his passion and specialty. He supported many charities and non-profits such as Driscoll Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, CASA, Feast of Sharing, and numerous others. His death is a massive loss for the community, and he will be missed by both family and friends.
Orlando is survived by his father Victor Valdez, Sr., his mother Patricia Delgado Valdez, his brothers Victor Valdez, Jr. and Jesus Angel Valdez, his sister Lisa Michelle Derryberry Valdez and his best friend Ben aka Lucky the Clown.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
