My condolences to the Costilla families. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of dear Oralia. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which says " Your dead ones will live...They will rise up". And the Bible also says "The righteous themselves will inherit the earth and they will forever reside upon it". Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,28 which says "Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out".. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ's ransom sacrifice . Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you. .

Yaya, my friend of more then 50 years breaks my heart today and forever. You have left me behind and I will be lost without you. Who will I call now? You and I shared many good and bad memories. We laughed, cried, giggled and kept many secrets without ever telling anyone else. You were a blessing when you came back to Corpus from San Antonio.

When I was teaching at Miller you became my student's model. You let them practice on your hair, they used you as their model for their state board exam and you chaperoned many years for me. When I traveled with my children you were always taking care of them while I attended meetings Yaya, that's how close you and I were.

Then one day calls were pouring in from Texas and my heart started pounding. Hector, Amanda, Bertha, Felix and finally Jesse, called to tell me that you my friend "La Yaya, had left this world. My world was turned upside down.

Some of you might not know but she and I met at Ella Barnes Junior High School. From there we continued our education at Roy Miller High School. We lost track for a few years but then we reconnected and we remained close friends until I moved away 2016 to live in Arizona.

One week before her passing, our last words were about my problems and her illness and that I would most likely be seeing her by next year.

I am so sorry my friend Yaya, I did not get to say good bye. But, with you, a part of my heart will travel all the way to heaven. Find my daughter Irene, and hold her and kiss her for me. Rest in Peace my friend..you left me a bundle of beautiful memories...Toni
