Murray G. Burleson

Murray Burleson, age 78, passed away on July 31, 2022. He was born on November 26, 1943 to Wallace Burleson and Katherine Jackson. He graduated from Mary Carrol High School in 1962. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 through 1970. Murray greatly enjoyed computers and after his illness, he continued to solve jigsaw puzzles and play monopoly. He loved a good cup of coffee, particularly with friends. He will always be remembered for his quirky sense of humor. He cared about his family, including all the puppies who took care for him during his days at home. Murray was a loving husband.
Murray is preceded in death by his mother, Katherine Burt and his stepfather, Woodrow Burt.
Murray is survived by his wife, Elaine, sisters, Brenda Scott and Dena Walberg (Leslie), nieces and nephews, John Hines, Angela Ford, Matthew Pierce, Heather Arteaga and Jeremy Ebert.
A gathering will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., that same day, at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
Having the distinguished honor to service as pallbearers are Leslie Walberg, Carl Ford, Brandon Ford, Jeremy Ebert, Matthew Pierce and John Hines. Honorary pallbearer will be Don Roach.
Special “Thank You” to Diane Hardin, his caregiver for his last 1 ½ years, who was endlessly patient and kind to him.
