Miguel Gregorio Duarte

Miguel Gregorio Duarte (Mike), age 93, passed away on May 15, 2022. Miguel was born on May 24, 1928 to Miguel and Maria Duarte. He served in the United States Army from February 4, 1949 to June 15, 1952.
Mike was employed by American Smelting and Refinery Company “ASARCO”. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, sports, the Houston Astros, Dallas Cowboys, and the San Antonio Spurs.
He will always be remembered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, devotion to family, and his service in the Korean War. Mike was a loving father, son, and brother. He was dedicated to his family.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents, Miguel and Maria Duarte, siblings, Simon, Isidro, Paula, Christina, Francisca, Anastacia, Luisa, and Juanita.
Mike is survived by his wife Zulema Duarte, and children Robert and Hector.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Seaside Reid Chapel. The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Interment to follow at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
