Minister Michael Wynn Boson

Minister Michael Wynn Boson was born September 21, 1949 in Columbus, Georgia to Tom and Lillie Boson. He was the oldest of nine siblings and moved to Corpus Christi in 1952. He was baptized at an early age under the leadership of Dr. H.C. Dilworth Jr. and continued his spiritual journey of faithfulness under the current pastor, Bishop C.E. Richardson at Calvary First Baptist Church.

Michael attended Carl Allen Elementary, Molina Jr. High, and West Oso High School. He was top 10 in his class. He played two positions in baseball, shortstop and catcher and led his team to 1st place in the State Championship. He attended Paul Quinn College on a full scholarship as a math major, and he worked at Reynolds on Rail Road in 1979 as a Bridge inspector and manager at Churches Chicken in Fort Worth Texas.

Mike loved to dress, dance, sing, and cook. He was a loving brother. He believed in unity. Psalms 133, he loved the Lord.

On March 13, 2023, Michael transitioned from earth to glory. Michael is preceded by his grandparents, parents, Tom and Lillie Boson, Leathe Mae Grant (sister), Brandon Kizzee (nephew), Tammy Boson (sister in law), Isaac Wiley and Jake Wiley (uncles).

Michael leaves to cherish his memories (son) Rodney, (daughters) Kenya, Kim, (brothers) Arthur Lee, Tom and Ronald (Mechelle) Boson, Charles Grant brother-in-law all of Corpus Christi, Texas and (brother) Donald (Melinda Francis) Boson and (sister) Vernell Boson of San Antonio, Texas, (sister) Jeanell Ross of Orlando, Florida, (sister) Mattie (Dexter) Kizzee of Houston, Texas, and (brother) Isaac (Denise) Wiley of San Antonio, Texas.

Michael also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends he’s made along his life’s journey.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Calvary First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
