Michael Ernest Ramey was born on September 28, 1960 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He died on May 10, 2019 after a short but valiant battle with lung cancer.
Michael was known to many in the Corpus Christi area as The Furniture Man. He refinished and sold wooden furniture after a brain tumor in 2006 left him disabled. He loved talking to people who would stop by to admire his handiwork.
Michael is preceded in death by his wife Kathleen Bullard of Roswell, New Mexico, his parents, Ernest and Shirley Ramey of Corpus Christi, Tx., and his grandparents, Abner and Blanche Munson of Georgetown, Tx., and Ernest and Audrey Ramey of Georgetown, Tx.
Michael is survived by his son, Christopher Bullard, daughters Angela Bullard Warth (Rob) and April Bullard Rowe (Jake), grandchildren Issac, Bella, Aaiyah and Eva Bullard, Aylissa Jansky, Romeo Smith, Mayhem, Kaj and London Rowe, Sierra, Robbie, Bridger and Remington Warth, a sister Melissa Ramey, niece Kerri Humphries (Dan) a great-niece Ayanna Humphries and a great nephew Asa Humphries as well as many friends and extended family who will all miss him very much.
Michael attended Carroll High School and spent much of his youth at the beach surfing, playing guitar and fixing up old cars.
Michael was diagnosed in October 2018 with stage 3 lung cancer. He went on chemo and radiation treatments but the cancer quickly spread to his lymph nodes, his bones and his brain. He battled his cancer bravely and optimistically.
There will be a water front memorial service for Michael on North beach on Saturday, June 1st, 2019 at 6pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice or a random act of kindness performed in memory of Michael.
