Obituary

Mary F. Stansel, age 90, passed away on April 23, 2022. She was born on July 4, 1931 to Francisco DelaFuente and Maria Jones.
Mary had an enormous passion for music and her voice-transpired generations. She started as a bolero singer, working with mariachis. She then started a trio, as the lead singer, known as The Madrugadoras. She was later inducted into the Las Super Tejanas, and the opportunity to share the stage with Shelly Lares in Chicago. She was committed to the church, and conducted one of the choirs at Holy Family Parish. Mary was also extremely skilled at playing the guitar, having had the pleasure of teaching a guitar playing class at Del Mar College in the 80's. Mary enjoyed traveling whenever she had the chance, and anticipated her annual trip to Las Vegas. Most of all, she had a love of her family. She raised her six children, and two generations of grandchildren. She enjoyed holidays together with her family, and would light up the room with her presence.
