Mary Jeanette Torres

Mary Jeanette Torres, age 45, passed away January 13, 2020. She was born August 27, 1974 to Calvin Whiteside and Mary Gregory in Statesville, North Carolina. She graduated from Del Mar College in 2008 with her nursing degree. Mary married her husband of 17 years on November 2, 2002. She was employed with Oakland Manor Nursing Center. She was a loving mother, sister and aunt. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, her huge smile and laughter. She never met a stranger and made everyone feel like family.

Mary is preceded in death by her grandmother, “Ma Susie”, sisters, Lucy and Cassandra and her son, Javen Isaiah Torres.

Mary is survived by her husband, Tony Torres, sons, Reggie Weathers, Eliseo Torres, Aaron Torres and Jacob Derr, daughters, Alexis Torres and Ariel Thompson, aunt, Jeanette Whiteside, grandson, Javen Eliseo Torres, father, Calvin Whiteside, mother, Mary Gregory, and brother Kenny.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Monday, January 20, 2020 at Westhaven Baptist Church. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. that same afternoon at Westhaven Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jason Geter, Reggie Weathers, Eliseo Torres, Jacob Derr, Aaron Torres and Jason Fields.
