Maria Fermina Alonzo

Maria Fermina Alonso Alvarado, age 94, passed away on October 11, 2021. Fermina was born on October 13, 1926 to Castulo Alonso and Francisca Alvarado in Palma De La Cruz, Soledad De Graciano Sanchez, San Luis Potosi, Mexico.
Fermina enjoyed dancing and knitting. She loved attending the Greenwood Senior Center and was an active member of the Greenwood Exercise Group. Exercising was her passion. She kept active throughout her life. Although she was a quiet person, she always enjoyed listening to a good conversation while drinking Piña Coladas and Margaritas… with a side of ketchup.
She will always be remembered for her quiet nature and devotion to prayer. She loved her sisters and brother very much. She will be dearly missed
Fermina was a loving sister and aunt. Fermina is preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Maria, Eduarda, Tomasa, and her brother Venancio. Fermina is survived by Susana Alonso Rocha and her nieces Rosa Maria Castro, Gloria Alonso, and Christina Alonso-Cantu.
Visitation will begin at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 with the recitation of the Rosary at 9:00 a.m., Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. that same morning at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
