Maria R. Garcia, age 83, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Maria was born on July 21, 1935 in Bishop, Texas to Francisco Rodriguez and Irene De La Garza. Maria was the first child to be baptized at St. James Catholic Church in Bishop, Texas. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, crafting and fishing. After marrying Luciano Garcia in August 29, 1956 Maria devoted her whole life to her family. She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Luciano H. Garcia, her parents, her brothers Serafin Rodriguez, Pablo Rodriguez, Pablo Rodriguez, Librado Rodriguez and three sisters Alicia Garcia, Herminia Rodriguez and Rosalia Rodriguez.
She is survived by her children, Jose Luis Garcia (Jill De Leon), Maria Anita Soliz (Richard), Jesus R. Garcia (Suwanmalee), Teresita Garcia, Luciano Garcia (Yulonda); 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren; sisters, Irene Rodriguez, Carmen Gallegos, Josefa Licon; brothers Francisco Rodriguez Jr., Santiago Rodriguez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Holy Family Catholic Church.
Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be: Steven Rubio, Robert Gomez, Johnathan Soliz, Christopher Rushing, Daniel Rushing and Vincent Garcia.
