Margarita L. Lerma

Margarita L. Lerma, age 81, passed away on July 25, 2021. Margarita was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on October 11, 1939 to Leo T. and Cruz T. Lopez. She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1959.  Margarita was employed by the Corpus Christi Caller Times for 9 years and later moved to Dallas, Texas in 1978. 

Margarita cherished her family more than anything.  Some of her favorite activities included playing with her beloved grandchildren, enjoying turkey legs, coin machines, and Skee Ball at the State Fair of Texas, solving crossword puzzles, eating Whataburger, watching Western movies and listening to “oldies but goodies” from the 1950’s. She also loved flowers. 

Margarita is preceded in death by parents Leo T. and Cruz T. Lopez, sisters Ernestina Bazaldua (Tina), Maria DeJesus Lopez (Susie), Macaria L. Tey, and Mary L. Sosa (Alicia), and brother Baldemar Lopez (Balde).  She is survived by husband Narciso Lerma, Sr., brother Ignacio Lopez (Nacho), children Danny Lerma (Karen), Narciso Lerma, Jr. (Yvonne), and Joey Lerma (Maria), and grandchildren John, Justin, Jarrod, Catherine, Kristina, Isaac, Jacob, Alyssa, Joseph and Matthew.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 9:00pm on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at the Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00pm that same evening. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, August 6, 2021 at 10:00am. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Angel Hands Hospice for their care. Margarita Lerma will always be known for her devotion to family and would want everyone to know that she is “OK” and to “Take it Easy.”
