Margarete Anna Hoffman Shindler, age 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at home in Corpus Christi, TX. She was born on January 10, 1938 in Peiskersdorf, Germany to Arnold and Gertrud Hoffmann.
Margarete grew up in Germany. She met Dorman Shindler while he was stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army and they married in 1955. Married 22 years, they raised four children.
Margarete lived in Corpus Christi, TX since 1968. She relocated to Corpus Christi, TX to be near the ocean which she loved so much. She spent as much time as possible enjoying the beaches, Sun, and ocean breeze at Padre Island Texas.
Margarete was a caring and loving mother, daughter, and sister. She visited her parents, brother and sister-in-law in Germany several times over the years and cherished the time she spent with them. She took wonderful care of her daughter, sons, and grandchildren who she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed but will remain in our hearts forever.
Margarete was preceded in death by her father and mother Arnold and Gertrud Hoffmann and her former husband Dorman Shindler.
She is survived by her brother Christof Hoffmann and his wife Monika Hoffmann of Germany; daughter Sieglinde Shindler; sons Leslie Shindler, Dorman Truett Shindler and his wife Marcia Shindler, and Richard Shindler; grandchildren Anya Shindler, Derek Shindler, and Kylie Shindler; and nephews Frank Hoffmann and Jörg Hoffmann.
