Macario Gonzlaez, age 81, passed away on August 1, 2019. He was born on February 11, 1938 to Simon and Inocencia Gonzalez.
He graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1957. He enlisted in the Air Force from 1957 to 1963.
Macario retired from General Accounting Office (GAO) in 1993. He received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M Corpus Christi University.
He was a member of Fifties Club, American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.
He will be always membered for his love of laughter, quiet nature, and sense of adventure, service in the community, and devotion to family. He loved to travel, cruises were his favorite and was excited to become a diamond member. He loved spending time with family and friends and never met a stranger. He was always willing and ready to go out and eat at a moment’s notice. He enjoyed visiting casinos all over the world, he loved being in Bandera and telling stories while drinking dressed Coronas. He always had a joke and smile.
He was a loving husband, father, son, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle, brother and friend.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister.
Marcario is survived by his wife, Fatma Gonzalez; four children, seven grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters.
Family and friends will be meeting at Corpus Christi Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, with a procession to Coastal Bend Veterans Cemetery, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:00 A.M.
