Lydia Rivera Maher, age 89, passed away January 13, 2022. She was born on September 5, 1932, to Armando and Felicitas Rivera in Corpus Christi, Texas. She was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. She attended Corpus Christi High School.
Lydia married her husband William “Bill” Patrick Maher of 53 years on January 3, 1958. Lydia was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lydia enjoyed spending time with family and watching her favorite TV shows. She will always be remembered for her devotion to her family, long trips to Wal-Mart, her red toenails, and bedazzled sandals. She always made sure her lipstick and eyeliner were on before going out and she was always the first at the party and last to leave.
Lydia is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Patrick Maher. Her parents, Armando Sr., and Felicitas Rivera. Her siblings Armando Jr., Joe, Adela, Manuel, Rosa, Robert, Irma, and Elva.
Left to cherish her memories are her daughter Lydia Mae Palacios, David Palacios (spouse), and son Steve Maher. Her grandchildren Megan Christine Palacios Fox and Richard Fox, David Douglas Palacios and Ale Palacios, Shannon Marie Palacios and Jerry Shih-Ming Wang, Kelly Alexis Palacios and Chris Chen, Sara Katherine Maher, Emily Lydia Maher, and William Henry Maher. Her great-grandchildren Vivian Christine Johnston, Benjamin Alexander Fox, Annabelle Fox and Matilda Fox. Her siblings Ralph and Irma Rivera and Beatrice Hinojosa.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Sunday January 16th, 2022, at Reid Chapel at Seaside Funeral Home 4357 Ocean Drive Corpus Christi, Tx, 78414. A funeral service will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday January 17th, 2022, at Annaville Seventh-Day Adventist Church 2710 Violet, Corpus Christi, Tx 78410. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park 2731 Comanche St. Corpus Christi, Tx 78408.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Steve Maher, David Palacios, David Douglas Palacios, Richard Fox, Elvin Brunks, and Armando Hinojosa.
