Lydia Alvarado

Lydia M. Alvarado, 84, passed away on June 10, 2022. She is preceded in death by her parents Nieves Guerrero Montalvo and Manuela Peña Montalvo, her husband Luis Alvarado and her brother Jesse Montalvo (Maria (†)). She is survived by her siblings Rojelio Montalvo (Lydia S. (†)), Jose Erasmo Montalvo, Ninfa Garza (Israel (†)), Apolonio “Polo” Montalvo (Aida), Roberto Montalvo (Sylvia), Esmeralda Uribe (Juan) and Nieves Jr. Montalvo (Julie).
Although Lydia did not have any children of her own, she was loved by all her nieces and nephews. She always called them “My one and only,” “Beautiful” or “Handsome” and was there whenever they needed help, encouragement, or just a great piece of pineapple upside down cake.
Lydia enjoyed traveling with her husband, Luis. They took many vacations where they could explore and visit different attractions. She enjoyed cooking, baking, shopping, and gardening. She always looked forward to visiting with her numerous family and friends, especially her HEB partners. Everyone knew Lydia would bring something good to eat when she came to visit.
Visitation will be held from 4:30 pm to 9 pm on Friday, June 17th at Reid Chapel, in Seaside Memorial Park, Corpus Christi, TX 78412. A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 pm that same evening. Funeral Service will be held at same location on Saturday, June 18th at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Victoria Lawson, Catherine Lawson, Andrea Montalvo-Hamid, Carlos Montalvo, David Montalvo and Oscar Gomez.
Honorary pallbearers are brothers Rojelio Montalvo, Jose Erasmo Montalvo, Polo Montalvo, and Nieves Jr. Montalvo.
