Linda Esparza, age 69, passed ways on February 18, 2021. She was born on September 11, 1951 in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Gregorio and Eva Esparza. She graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1970. She worked as a Unit Clerk for 50 years in Corpus Christi and Colorado. After 28 years of service with Driscoll Children’s Hospital, she retired in 2016. Linda enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, coloring with her younger sister, Nora, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her big heart and for her devotion to her family. She was always willing to help anyone out in their time of need. Linda was a loving mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Linda is preceded in death by parents, Gregorio and Eva Esparza, brother, Jesse M. Esparza, son, Leonardo Hinojosa Jr. and the love of her life, Serafin L. Vera Jr.
Linda is survived by her children; Nola (Emil) Baker, Mark A. Vera and Eva (Justin) Kingman, grandchildren; Sammy (Allie) Martinez, Sarah (Tony) Martinez, Stephanie (Bradley) Martinez, Emil Baker Jr., Emilie Baker, Isaiah Romero, Jeremiah Paez-Vera, Sophia Kingman, Leonardo Hinojosa III and Zayla Hinojosa, great-grandchildren; Billy Ramos, Bailee Ortiz, Serenity Martinez and Alexander Jameson Recio, siblings; MaryLou Cortez, Greg Esparza Jr., Norma (Richard) Barnard and Nora (Salvador Sanchez) Esparza, seven nieces and five nephews.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Due to COVID limitations, the Rosary will be limited to 75 people. A live stream of the Rosary will be available for friends and family to view from their home. Masks are required.
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are, Sammy Martinez Jr., Billy J. Ramos, Leonardo Hinojosa III, Tony Recio, Bradley Griffin and Smiley Valdez.
