Julio R. Hernandez

Julio R. Hernandez, Sr., age 66, passed away on November 6, 2019. He was born on September 9, 1953 to Rumaldo and Maria Santos Hernandez in Harlingen, Texas. He was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1972. Julio was employed by Memorial Hospital and retired after 32 years. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, grandfather and uncle.
Julio enjoyed fishing, Dallas Cowboy football, spending time with his children and grandchildren and was a huge dog lover. He will always be remembered for being a one in a million kind of a man, with a heart of gold and a sense of humor unlike any other. He was a beautiful person and he never judged anyone. He loved his children and grandkids to the fullest. He always had a joke to crack at the drop of a dime. He was one of the humblest person you could meet.

Julio is survived by his mother; Maria Santos Hernandez, his wife, of 23 years, Ginny Caballero and the mother of his children; Irene Garcia, his sons; Julio Hernandez, Jr. and Steven Hernandez and Jackie (David) Ramos, Julie (Anthony) Gutierrez, Eric Barrera, Gilley Salas, Orlando (Kara) Salas, Julian (Amanda) Salas, Gabriel (Iris) Salas, his sisters; Rachel Castanon and Margie Garcia, three brothers; Rumaldo (Leticia) Hernandez, Richard Hernandez and Ramiro (Linda) Hernandez, Sr., 18 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, his four furry friends and numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Ramiro Henandez, Jr., Rahene Nedd, Lupe Molina Jr., Gabriel Salas, Orlando Salas and Julian Salas.
