Juanita H. Cortez, age 65, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Juanita was born on February 18, 1953 to Modesto and Josefina Hernandez in Taft, Texas. She married on June 5, 2014 and began a new chapter in her life. She enjoyed gospel music and was devoted to her faith in God, her family and friends. Her laughs were loud and her smiles were real. Her unique, stubborn but loving personality will be missed by all who loved her. Juanita is preceded in death by her mother, Josefina Hernandez and her daughter, Priscilla Gonzalez.
She is survived by her husband, Guillermo Cortez; sons, Espirdion “Speedy” Gonzalez Jr. and Michael Gonzalez; grandson, Cristian Gonzalez; her siblings, Maria Riojas, Reyes Hernandez, Domingo Hernandez, Martin Hernandez, Isabel Brown; numerous nieces and nephews and her dog, Ernie
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018 at Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., with a Prayer Service to be held at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr.
Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
