Juan Manuel Garcia

December 13, 1929 ~ June 21, 2022 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Obituary

Juan Manuel Garcia, age 92, returned to his heavenly home on June 21st, 2022. He was born on December 13, 1929, to Manuel and Rosenda Garcia in Roma, Texas.
Juan married the love of his life, Enedina T Garcia, in Driscoll, TX on May 2nd, 1948.  Together they raised five children and taught them the value of marriage.  Their devotion to one another was one to admire.  Their love for one another, set an example to each of their children and has been passed on to the next generations.
Juan and Enedina lived in many places until finally making their home in Corpus Christi.  Juan had many trade jobs.  He was a special deputy officer for the Sheriff's office and a mechanic at Menger Oldsmobile and Creveling Dodge.  But Juan enjoyed the jobs he didn’t get paid to do.  Juan volunteered at Whataburger on Airline every night to help the security guard to keep a watchful eye on those who entered the 24/7 establishment.  Many patrons at Whataburger grew to know him as “Mr. G”.  Mr. G was known around town for patrolling the streets of Corpus Christi with his police scanner.  He enjoyed the night life of keeping watch and would stay up to the early hours of the morning.  Mr. G also helped at the Taqueria Acapulco on Airline.  He would patrol their grounds, clean tables, and then head to Whataburger to start his next shift. He was also known to drive by his loved one’s homes late at night, to make sure all was well. He will always be remembered for the joy of patrolling and the excitement of sitting out on the porch listening to his police scanner.
He also enjoyed making special memories with his family.  He often made the family laugh with outbursts of singing and dancing, especially during the holidays.  He was a giving person and would often give his grandchildren money to buy Whataburger.  He will be remembered for his love of coffee, bean tacos, and endless sweets. He leaves a big hole in the hearts of his family, but they have peace knowing he is reunited with his beloved wife.
Juan M Garcia is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Enedina Garcia, sons-in-law, David J. Ramirez, and Felipe Lamb Sr.
Left to cherish his memories are Rebecca Lamb, John (Mary) Garcia, Ruth (Tomas) Garcia, Elva Ramirez, and Ricky (Sheryl) Garcia.  He has 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 10 AM to 1 PM on Tuesday, June 28th, 2022, at 4357 Ocean Dr. (Seaside Memorial Park) at the Reid Chapel.  A celebration of life service will be held at 1 PM that same day.  Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
