Juan A. Gonzalez, age 79, passed away on December 23, 2021. He was born on February 28, 1942 to Francisco P. Gonzales and Maria Adame. Juan was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas, where he graduated from Miller High School. He served in the United States Army, Marine Corps and United States Coast Guard. Juan took pride in serving as a Vietnam Military Sargent. During his time in the service he received two Purple Hearts and a President Award. He also devoted time as a public servant as a firefighter.
Juan married his wife of 56 years, Sara Gonzalez in September of 1965. He was employed by Naval Air Station Base. Juan was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Juan enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Juan is preceded in death by his father, Francisco P. Gonzales, mother Maria Adame Gonzales, brother Paul Adame Cortez, brother Frank Gonzales Jr. and brother Antonio Gonzales.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sara Gonzalez, daughter Esther Gonzalez, son Juan R. Gonzalez brother Joe Gonzales and sister Timi Gonzales. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Dystina Davila (Jesus Valdez), Troy Gonzalez Davila, Gavin Anthony Gonzalez and Hannah Gonzalez. Great grandchildren; Antonio Davila Valdez, Sarita Teresemarie Valdez and Lexus Nikolasa Valdez.
Visitation will be held from 5-9pm, with a Prayer Service at 7pm on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Seaside Reid Chapel. A Service will take place on Friday, December 31, 2021 at 11:30am, also at Seaside Reid Chapel. Entombment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are, Rogelio Ramirez, Sean Williams, Jesus Valdez Jr., Hector Rodarte and Joe Gonzales.
