Obituary
Jose Serrato was born on September 12, 1963 to parents Jose Serrato and Irene Serrato. He passed away peacefully at the age of 55 on November 10, 2018 at Angel Bright Hospice surrounded by his loving family.
Jose, known by everyone as Che’, is preceded in death by his mother Irene Serrato, sisters Maria G. Garcia, Maria Serrato Medina, and Irma Serrato Rodriguez.
Che’ is survived by his father Jose Serrato, siblings Aurora (Juan) Nunez, Rosa (Diomedes) Ramos, Ana (Ed) Marrero, Maria (Roland) Valadez, Norma (Paul) Vandevender and numerous nieces and nephews.
In his youth, he would spend hours playing soccer and throughout his life he was a free-lance writer, musician, and photographer, who enjoyed listening to music of all genres, sunbathing at the beach, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his friends. He was well known in the music scene in Corpus Christi, Texas and in Mexico. People were drawn to him because of his friendly and kind-hearted personality. He was a free-spirited man but he knew his spirit belonged to God because of his faith.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 12:30 pm on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Seaside Reid Chapel, 4357 Ocean Dr., Corpus Christi, Texas.
A Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
