Jose G. Morales

Jose (Joe) Guadalupe Morales, age 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short illness on July 16, 2022. He was born on May 12, 1942 in Linares, Mexico, but moved to McAllen, Texas as a child where he quickly learned English while attending school. 

After graduating from high school, he received a scholarship to Del Mar College's vocational school to study mechanics.  Jose met his wife of over 50 years, Adelina, while attending Del Mar College, often described as "love at first sight." 

After college, Jose became a diesel mechanic working on large boat engines, and worked for Holt Caterpillar for 25 years. Jose was extremely creative and could build anything with his hands – he once built his daughters a treehouse. Till almost the very end, Jose was tinkering with cars, building things and making repairs around the house.

Joe cherished his family and was a very caring and loving husband and father. You could always see the twinkle in his eyes when he spent time with his family – whether he was traveling on road trips across the country, or taking his wife for a spin on the back of his Harley.

Jose Morales is preceded in death by his father Raul Morales, mother Nieves Morales and the love of his life, wife Adelina Morales.

Left to cherish his memories are his daughters Lisa Hicks (Roger) and Yvette McCarthy (Ronnie) and countless in-laws, nephews and nieces who will miss his signature twinkle-filled smile.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12, 2022 at Seaside Memorial Park.
