Jose M. Contreras

Jose M. Contreras, age 75, passed away on January 6, 2020. He was born on December 17, 1944 to Guadalupe and Leonarda Contreras.
He served in the United States Army. Jose was employed by Southwestern/Koch Refinery for over 18 years. He was a loving family man and enjoyed spending time with them. He was an avid Houston Astros fan.
Jose is survived by his wife Mary Contreras of 53 years; 3 children Maria Davina “Dina” (Tony) Pedraza, Esmeralda “Essi” Contreras, Noemi Contreras (Joe Nerios); Grandchildren, Karen Christine Contreras, Luis Antonio “Tony” Pedraza Jr., AnnaLea Cristal Pedraza, Alexandria Nicole Contreras “Lexie”; Great grandchildren Dezirae, Rianna, Scarlett, Lyrik; brothers Enrique “Rick” Contreras, Santos Contreras, Larry Contreras, Joe Angel Contreras; sister Rosie Benavides.
He is preceded in death by his parents Guadalupe and Leonarda Contreras; son Jose Maria “Joey” Contreras Jr. grandson Joey Sebastian Contreras.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery.
