Jose H. Martinez

Jose H. Martinez, age 66, passed away on May 3, 2021. He was born on April 1, 1955 to Hipolito Martinez and Josefa Hernandez.  Jose loved and enjoyed being with his family and friends, his love for music and his tambourine. He will always be remembered for his sort of entertainer. He was either making you laugh with his jokes or scarring you with his pranks.

Jose would put on some music on his cd player and cranked it up full blast so the whole neighborhood could hear, he then would go to the corner sidewalk in front of the house, start beating on his tambourine and would start dancing and singing (this was almost every singleday). He would say people need more music and laughter in their life and need to get up from their sofas. Jose was a loving father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.

Jose is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Enrique, Hipolito Jr., Hector, Ernesto Martinez, sisters, Maria Luisa Uvalle, Elena Lopez and Gregoria Pena.

He is survived by his son, Joseph Jay Martinez, granddaughter, Leonie La Bell Martinez, sisters, Janie Casiano, Rosalinda Lucio and F. Gracie (Reynaldo) Chavez, numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm (noon) to 1:30 pm on Monday, 
May 10, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. A Rosary and Funeral Service will be held at 1:30pm that same day. Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Jay Martinez, Robert Abecia, Ray DeLuna, Rey Chavez, Henry Martinez and Richard Garcia.
