Jose Alfredo Coleman Sr.

Joe A. Coleman, Sr., age 61, passed away on February 4, 2021. Joe was born May 9, 1959 to John L. Coleman and Julia E. Salinas. He graduated from Miller High School in 1977. Joe then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served from April 25, 1978 through April 23, 1982. Joe was employed by Texas Paralyzed Veterans. He enjoyed watching Star Trek, collecting coins and rocks, and making jewelry. He also loved to BBQ, loved history, especially Native American culture and watching the Dallas Cowboys games. Joe will always be remembered for his devotion to family, having a story for everything, making people laugh and telling inappropriate jokes. Joe was a loving father, son, grandfather, friend and cousin.
Joe is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and his sister Yvette Coleman.
Joe is survived by his ex-wife, Mary Coleman; his children, Joe A. Coleman, Jr., Louis A. Coleman, Tina L. Coleman; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Salata, Jessica Gonzalez, Alexys Gonzalez, Anna Coleman, Joe Rey Ponce, Louis Garza, Joe Coleman, III, Rebecca Sarmiento, Randy Riveria, Brandi Riveria; his siblings, Mary Lou Coleman Arreola (Javier Arreola), Carolyn Coleman (Gwen Coleman), Hollis Pevahouse, Yvette Coleman, John R. Coleman (Cameron Coleman), Jerry Coleman (Penny Coleman); his nieces and nephews, Geraldo Arreola, Candida Arreola, Andrew Arreola, Samuel Coleman, Catherine Coleman, Andrea White, Daniel “DJ” White, Kai Coleman, Zoey Ava Coleman and Jerry Coleman, Jr.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until 1:00 PM, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a funeral service to be held at 1:00 PM that same afternoon. Interment will be at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery at a later date.
