Jose F. Bernal

Jose F. “Frankie” Bernal Sr. beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 1, 2021 at the age of 71. He was born on April 19, 1950 in Corpus Christi, Texas to his loving parents, Manuel and Flora Bernal.
Frankie graduated in 1968 from West Oso High School. He attended Corpus Christi State University where he obtained a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He worked for Central Power and Light/AEP and retired after 34 years.
He enjoyed playing pool, fishing, and spending time with his family. Frankie will be remembered for his devotion to his family and the love he had for all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Frankie is preceded in death by, and joins in heaven, his parents, Manuel and Flora Bernal, his son Orlando Bernal, his brother Manuel Bernal Jr., his sister Felecita Villanueva, and his in laws Rigoberto and Emma Guerrero. He leaves behind the love of his life, Olga Bernal who he was married to for 51years, and his son Jose (Christine) Bernal. Mourning the loss of their grandfather are Joseph (Bianca) Bernal, Jacklyn (Jaime) Rivas, Dionne Bernal (Frank), Dominique Bernal (Jacob), Danae Bernal and Caylie Bernal. As well as his seven Great –Grandchildren Emma, Olivia, Mya Bella, O.J., Penelope, Koe, and Kourtney. Frankie also leaves behind two brothers Juan (Amelia) Bernal, Genaro (Mary) Bernal, two sisters Petra Moreno and Alejandra Herrera, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at the Corpus Christi Funeral Home, with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Thursday, November 11th at 1:00 P.M. to Christ the King Catholic Church where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:30 P.M. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve as pallbearers are Jose Bernal Jr, Joseph Bernal, Bobby Moreno, Refugio Moreno, C J Moreno, and Juan Moreno.
Honorary pallbearers are Jacklyn Rivas, Dionne Bernal, Dominique Bernal, Danae Bernal, and Caylie Bernal.
The Bernal family would like to express their gratitude to Aadi Home Health Care and the “family” they sent to take care of our husband, dad, and grandpa. Carmen, Nora, Belinda, and Susan -Thank you for all the comfort you showed and for always treating him like your own with the utmost dignity and respect. You all made this transition much easier for all of us, and we will never forget it.
