Joel D Herrera

Joel D. Herrera, age 96, passed away on November 18, 2023, in Flower Mound, TX, of natural causes. His loved ones were by his side, and he died peacefully.
 
Joel was born in Alice, Texas, in 1927 but lived most of his life in Corpus Christi. He was married to his wife Gloria for 59 years when she passed in 2020. Joel then went to live with his niece, Lidia Korinko, and nephew, Mike Korinko, who cared for him during his final years.
 
As a teenager, Joel enlisted in the Army and then served and retired from the Air Force. He then worked for Central Power and Light Company in Accounting until retirement.
 
Throughout his life, Joel enjoyed playing golf and tennis and played well into his 80’s. He is preceded in death by many nieces and nephews.
 
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home, 2409 Baldwin Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78405. Funeral Service will be held at Corpus Christi Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, 9974 IH 37, Corpus Christi, Texas 78410
