Joe Vela Jr.

Jose “Joe” Vela Jr., age 55, passed away on April 24, 2021. Joe was born on October 14, 1965, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to Jose and Maria Vela. He was employed by Allied Universal. Joe enjoyed serving the Lord at his church, going “live” on facebook and selling fruit. He will always be remembered for his devotion to his loving wife, daughter, son-in-law and his three grandchildren.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Maria Vela, father, Jose Vela, Sr., brother, Pete Vela and sister, Velma Escochea.
Joe is survived by his wife, Irene Vela, daughter, Brenda Jo (Brandon Brown) Vela, grandchildren, Malayah, Maziah and Amirah Brown, siblings, Guadalupe (Mary) Vela, Victor (Dolores) Vela and Josie Vela.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, 2021 with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. that same evening at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are John Vela, Jacob Vela, David Scott Montemayor, Roman Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Guadalupe Vela Jr. and Marcus Rodriguez.
