Joe Ernest “Ernie” Flores, age 40, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Joe Ernest was born on April 24, 1977 to David Flores and Diana Bustamante. He attended Roy Miller High School. Ernie was employed by several contract companies, but was last employed by BRAND. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and family, BBQ, fishing, shooting at the range, working on cars and fixing things. Just an all around jack of all trades.
Ernie will always be remembered for his love of laughter, his kind heart and always willing to help where he could, making jokes and giving smiles to everyone he came across. Ernie was a loving father, son, brother and uncle.
Ernie was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Jose and Felipa Flores, maternal grandparents, Alejandro and Margarita Bustamante, Great aunt Lydia Rodriguez, maternal great grandparents Pedro and Refugia Rodriguez.
Ernie is survived by his father David G. (Herminia) Flores and mother Diana J. Bustamante of Corpus Christi, Texas; his daughters Diana Nicole Flores (Aldemar) of Jacksonville Florida and Jolynn Rose Flores; two sons Roman Daniel and Joel Luke Flores of Corpus Christi and one grandson A.J. Ortiz; four brothers David Philip Flores (Joel) of Dallas, Texas, Pedro B. Flores (Emma) of Corpus Christi, Texas, Ruben A. Bustamante, David G. Flores Jr. of Dallas, Texas and five sisters Drucilda Flores (Michael), Crystal Bustamante (Diego) both of Corpus Christi, Texas, Felipa F. Flores, Belen G. Flores and Azucena G. Flores; and numerous nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel in Clarkwood.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be: Pedro B. Flores, Ruben A. Bustamante, Pete A. Flores, Noe L. Flores, Alex Garza, and Bernardo Castro.
Honorary Pallbearers are Alex Bustamante and Benjamin N. Ashley.
