Israel Garcia

Israel Garcia, age 85, passed away on September 10, 2023. Israel Garcia was born on November 2, 1937 to Gregoria and Fermin Garcia. Israel graduated from Roy Miller High School in 1957 and served in the Air Force from 1961-1964.

Israel Garcia was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years before retiring. He was proud to be employed with USPS and enjoyed sharing stories of his time with them. Israel enjoyed watching all sports but his true love for sports was in football and his Dallas Cowboys. Traveling to visit family and being outdoors in Downtown Corpus Christi, by the water, watching the skateboarder's, were a few things he enjoyed with his loving wife Alice.

Israel is preceded in death by his parents Gregoria and Fermin Garcia, his brothers Juan, Benny, Daniel, Ralph and Hito and his sisters Connie and Beatrice.

He is survived by the people he cherished most, his wife Alice Collins Garcia, his sons Armando (Aurora) Garcia, Alonzo (Roxanne) Garcia, Israel (Cindy) Garcia Jr., his grandchildren, Julian Garcia, Alonzo Garcia Jr., Casandra Nguyen, Blake Luis, Kaleb Garcia,  Holly Graham, and Desirae Trenary, Great-grandchildren; Ethan, Elaina, Jocelyn, and nieces Debra, Irene, and Jeanette.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2023 from 5:00 p.m.. to 9:00 p.m.. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Funeral Home.  Interment to follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Armando Garcia, Alonzo Garcia, Israel Garcia Jr., Mark Avila, Louis Leal Jr., and Ramiro Meave.
