Obituary

Irene Dee Ewers, age 18, passed away on November 8, 2020. She was born on January 7, 2002 to Liza Chapa and Daniel Lopez Sr. in Corpus Christi, TX. She graduated from Solomon M. Coles High School in 2020. She was employed by Mesquite House BBQ and Amazing Home Care.

Irene enjoyed playing volleyball, going shopping, making TikTok videos, making jokes and family gatherings especially during Easter. She will always be remembered for her love of laughter, her huge smile that would brighten the room, being a mentor to her siblings and the devotion she had to her family. She liked to cook and made the best rice. Irene was an unbreakable mother, her precious daughter meant the world to her and the love she had for her was endless. Irene was extremely goal oriented and had already planned to attend Del Mar College’s medical program like her older sister, Ashley, who graduated and is now active in that field. She was a loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, cousin and friend.

Irene is preceded in death by her grandma Gloria Hernandez and her brother/best friend George Sanchez. She is survived by her daughter Kehlani Perez, husband Justin Perez, mother Liza Chapa, father Daniel Lopez Sr, siblings Larry Coronado, Ashley Coronado, Danielle Ewers, Miracle Lopez, Daniel Lopez Jr, Addison Lopez and Jocelyn Lopez; aunts and uncles April and Johnny Herrera, Lupe and Gina Chapa, Christina Aparicio, Gonzalo Rincon, Maria Rico and Sylvia Soliz; cousins Breanna Perez, Brian Rivera, Johnny Herrera III, Gloria Herrera, Jennifer Herrera, Joe Chapa, Dan Chapa, Nathan Chapa and Bella Chapa; nieces and nephews Genesis Coronado, Jennavecia Coronado, Lya Coronado, Larry Coronado III, Sebastian Norega, Liam Norega and Elijah Coronado; brother-in-law Javonnie Ramos; sister-in-law Audrey Rodriguez and best friend America Soliz.

A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Seaside Reid Chapel. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Seaside Reid Chapel. Interment will follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
