Herminia Suniga

Herminia Suniga, age 92, passed away on March 18, 2020 from a long battle with dementia. She quietly slipped away to be reunited with her sons and daughter.
We held her hand while we said good-bye with hugs and kisses.
Herminia was born on April 25, 1927 in Cuero, Texas to Isabel Ramirez and Catarina Gonzales. She was raised in Cuero along with her ten siblings; there she met her husband, Florentino Suniga.
She will be remembered for her sparkling blue eyes, quiet nature and total devotion to her family. She was the sole caregiver for her disabled son for 43 years, Robert Suniga, until his death.
She was a member at Zavala Senior Center where she enjoyed attending social events; she especially liked the dances.
Herminia is preceded in death by her three sons, Ernest Suniga, Gilbert Zuniga, Robert Suniga, one daughter, Debra Ann Suniga and husband, Florentino Suniga.
Herminia is survived by her daughter, Herminia (Minnie) Solis, grandchildren, Perle Garcia, Eric Garcia, Michelle Guitron, Selinda, Zuniga, Michael Zuniga, Ernest Suniga Jr., Adam Suniga, Judy Chino, Debra Ann Zuniga, 19 great-grandchildren and 26 great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 27, 2020 at Corpus Christi Funeral Home followed by a Rosary at 11:30 AM, and a Funeral Mass at 12:00 p.m. that same day. Interment to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
Having the distinguished honor to serve, as pallbearers are Eric Garcia, Joey Guitron, Adam Suniga, Michael Zuniga, Curtis Johnson and Deandre Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the Alzheimer Association, in hope that one day a cure will be found for this debilitating brain disease.

Corpus Christi Funeral Home will implement the 10 person limit gatherings on any and all services.
